Swami Omkarananda (Swami OM) served as a Swami within the Sivananda Yoga Vedanta Organization between the years 1985-2003
Teacher’s Training Course…
Swami OM dived into the yogic way of life and practices right after her mandatory service in the Israeli Army. She took her TTC via the Sivananda organization in 1985 in Mitzpe Ramon Israel. Swami OM is a native of Mitzpe Ramon
On Staff at the SYVC in Israel
Right after TTC Swami OM joined the Sivananda center in Tel Aviv as a staff member, where she taught and served for 8 years.
With Swami VishnuDevananda
Swami Omkarananda received all of her initiations from here master Swami VishnuDevananda and was one of his personal assistants at the Sivananda HQ in Val Morin Canada. Swami VishnuDevananda had blessed Swami OM in her work with children and appointed her as the kids camp director in HQ. Advanced Teachers Training Course and Sadhana Intensive
As long as Swami VishnuDevananda was in his body Swami OM chose to spend her time with Swamiji other than take any courses and she was privileged and blessed to do so. In 2003 after the departure of her Master Swami OM took the Advanced Teachers Training Course and the Sadhana Intensive.
In the Bahamas
Swami OM was always under the guidance and influence of Swami Swaroopananda. She spent her first years in Tel Aviv under his directions. In 1993 right before the physical departure of her beloved Master, Swami OM was sent by Swami VishnuDevananda to the Sivananda Yoga Retreat in the Bahamas where she spent the next 7 years Teaching, directing and serving in every way…Once again under the direction of Swami Swaroopananda.
In Los Angeles
In the year 2000 Swami OM became the director of the Sivananda Yoga Center in LA and in 2003 Swami OM left the Sivananda Organization….
During her years in the Sivananda Organization Swami OM managed and directed a few yoga centers and taught at the Sivananda Teachers Training Courses. She also directed the kids camps and became a Montessori teacher.
